September and the Hurricane

Eastern North Carolina has recently experienced Mother Nature’s power. On Friday, September 14, 2018, a Category 1 Hurricane, named Florence, came rushing through our area.  We were told of evacuations, what supplies were needed, and the weather we were expecting to experience. The thing that most do not share is the emotional strain of not knowing the certainty of your home, loved ones, or future will be. As Hurricane Florence came through, she blew her wind at our front doors and brought rain that has flooded our streets. Now as the storm has passed, we are coming together as a family, friends and a community. Eastern North Carolina, We ARE strong. We ARE courageous. And most of all, we ARE going to make it through this, together.

RADD, Inc. was not able to keep September’s events scheduled. We know that our participants enjoy our events, but safety is our #1 concern. We apologize  for any inconvenience our cancelled events have caused. The cancelled events were Art Class, Craft Class, Dance, and the Art Show. Regardless of cancelations, we will be continuing strong with the new Tennis Clinic on Sept 29. If you have not  signed up, please call the office to be put on the roster.

October is coming upon us, and we would like to invite all our participants to the Halloween Dance on Thursday, Oct 4 from 6:30pm-8pm at the First Presbyterian Church on North Herritage Street in Kinston. Costumes are encouraged!

Fliers have been mailed out with all upcoming events for October.

As for the Art Show, RADD will be discussing a new date for the Spring of 2018. Please stay tuned to our Facebook page and our fliers as the date becomes available. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Linda at (252)522-2814.  Thank you for all that you do!
